Changing a VPN endpoint

Occasionally, due to IP address changes or other changes to the internet connection at your office, the VPN connection settings must be changed.

This is a quick task that can be completed in about 1-2 minutes.

If you don’t feel confident to make this change (instructions below) then please reach out to the helpdesk –support@jaytag.co.uk and they will be happy to assist.

Note that there are two sets of screenshots shown here, for Windows 10 and Windows 11 - the setting to be changed remains the same, but the options are displayed on screen slightly differently.

Changing the VPN endpoint

Right click the small network icon next to the system clock, and selecting Open Network and Internet Settings:

Then, click on the VPN section in the menu that appears:

Click on the relevant connection (usually with the name of your company) and click Advanced Options:

Then click Edit in the Connection properties screen:

Change the IP address or name in the Server name or address box to the new location you will have been informed of.

Click Save.

You can then test the connection works OK, by connecting in the usual way.
